Vacay is over -- it's back to reality!

,

Summer is winding down and families across the country are preparing for back to school. The first day is almost always nerve-wracking for kids, but when you're starting at a brand new school in a new location it can be especially difficult. PCSing to a new location brings with it a laundry list of to-do items, including registering your kiddo(s) for their new school, buying school supplies, and figuring out after-school care. Whether this is your first PCS or your tenth, we want you to know that we are here to support you before, during, and after your transition.

PCS is a stressful time for everyone, and the last thing you want to think about is what to feed your family for dinner. We asked some of our PCS pros for some of their favorite tried and true meals for PCS week, and we want to share them with you!Click the link below to check out our favorite meals for your PCS!

Thinking about selling your home? In this blog post, Realtor Tulio Peña shares 5 things NOT to waste your money on before listing:

  1. Solar power – The new owner might not be willing to take on the investment.

  2. Staging – Depending on where you live, staging isn’t always necessary.

  3. New paint – Why waste your time and money repainting every wall when the new owner might come in and repaint it a different color? Instead, fill in any holes and do touch up paint only.

  4. Landscaping – Depending on where you live, you might consider doing a zero-scape with rocks, dirt, and local fauna instead of all new landscaping.

  5. Stucco siding – While it may look pretty, homes with traditional siding sell at more comparable prices.

You may be wondering how you can show your gratitude and thanks to members of the military and their families in a way that seems authentic and sincere. There are so many ways to say thanks and it means so much to our families when someone takes the time to acknowledge the sacrifice and care.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  1. Consider finding a few military members in your community to bring into your circle.

  2. Mail a card to a military family to let them know you care.

  3. If you own a business, you could offer a special discount.
