How to avoid burnout and relax this summer

Walking alongside our military is one of the greatest (and most challenging) pleasures of our lives. We are honored to support our military men and women in life and in business.

Here are 5 ways to take time off, and not lose momentum, as business owners:

1. Get an answering service like Ruby Receptionist ( a service that engages your callers by taking messages, answering FAQs, scheduling appointments, and completing short intake forms). If you were to track all of the hours you spend on the phone each week you would be shocked! This easy solution allows you to take some time off without losing business.

2. A Good OOO message, with a good point of contact who can take care of requests should they have an immediate need. This pairs well with tip #1 above!

3. Hire a transaction coordinator to handle paperwork. Most of them can be paid per transaction. With a TC, they can take care of the little details for you while you are away so nothing falls through the cracks.

4. Partner with 2 or 3 agents in your office to help do showings while you are away -- just be sure to negotiate the terms of your partnership. It's always best to have back-ups when it comes to a showing partnership as no one person is always available.

5. Set office hours for yourself to check email, phone messages, and send paperwork as needed. Max 2 hours per day then turn your phone off for that much-needed reset!
