A letter to America’s patriots 🇺🇸

,

Together, as a nation, we celebrated our independence over the weekend. An honor that was paid for by the brave men and women who came before us, and continues to be upheld by the men and women in our military today.

As we celebrated, we want you, our soldiers, to know that we see you. We see the effort you put into helping raise our children when you come home, even though we know you’re mentally and physically exhausted. We see the pain behind your eyes when you’re gone and you long to be home.

Walking alongside our military is the greatest pleasure of our lives. We cherish every moment with you -- for better or worse.

Over the recent years, buying an investment property and flipping it for profit has become more and more popular, thanks to TV shows like Fixer Upper. While this can absolutely be an extraordinarily effective way to build wealth, it can also end in loss if you aren’t financially able to handle what comes with it.

Before you consider buying an investment property, you want to make sure you are financially prepared for everything that comes with it.

We spoke with Caliber Home Loans VA Home Loan lender and veteran military spouse, Michelle Crumley, to answer all your deep and burning questions about the investment home process.

Thinking about selling your home? In this blog post, Realtor Tulio Peña shares 5 things NOT to waste your money on before listing:

  1. Solar power – The new owner might not be willing to take on the investment.

  2. Staging – Depending on where you live, staging isn’t always necessary.

  3. New paint – Why waste your time and money repainting every wall when the new owner might come in and repaint it a different color? Instead, fill in any holes and do touch up paint only.

  4. Landscaping – Depending on where you live, you might consider doing a zero-scape with rocks, dirt, and local fauna instead of all new landscaping.

  5. Stucco siding – While it may look pretty, homes with traditional siding sell at more comparable prices.

Summertime usually means vacation time, but for some the thought of taking a vacation is more stressful than it is relaxing.

Here are a few tips to help you create a vacation fund so taking a trip doesn’t mean breaking the bank:

  1. Make a plan and create a budget.

  2. Set your goal and determine how much you need to save weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly to reach it.

  3. Find ways to save such as opening a separate savings account, cutting costs, or picking up some overtime.

Speaking of summer vacation, are you taking advantage of military traveling benefits? Many organizations have made traveling more affordable for military members and their dependents by offering discount options on airfare, lodging, entertainment, etc.

Discounts are available in multiple ways. Begin by looking at programs offered through the Morale, Recreation, and Welfare (MWR) Program. The MWR offers deals on attractions, events, hotels, and more. Deductions are also available directly from merchants or service providers.

You can find plenty of deals on things like lodging, flights, cruises, and dining.
