Did your duty station make the list?!

In April, we surveyed you on your current PCS struggles and needs and here are the top answers we received:

51% of you have an upcoming PCS and 54% have no idea where you will be headed next. An overwhelming amount of you expressed frustration over the current housing market, finding it difficult to secure a place to buy or rent. When asked what is most important to you about where you live, the top answers we received were the school ratings and the safety and security of the neighborhood. Last but not least, we asked if you felt like BAH was enough to cover off-base options in your current area and 78% of you answered no.

Father’s Day is just around the corner and for lots of families that means barbecues and time together, but when Dad is deployed the day looks very different doesn’t it?  Burgers and family lawn games aren’t going to work so how can we still take care of Dad and show him how much he means to us even when he is deployed?

Moving to a new station means enrolling in new schools, finding a new favorite grocery store, and shopping for a new church home. Church shopping is not for the faint of heart. You really never know what kind of experience you’re in for until you work up the courage to stroll in the front door of an unfamiliar church building. Sometimes, you will be welcomed with open arms. Other times, you’ll be lucky if anyone even makes eye contact. The process really is a “hit or miss” type of situation. We've put together a list of hacks we use when searching for a new church home.
